Bio

She/Her

Jasmine Poblano is a continuing graduate student in the Chicano/a/e Studies Department at the University of New Mexico. Jasmine received her Bachelor of Arts in Chicane and Latine Studies from the University of Northern Colorado. Currently, she works with the Curandero program as a media specialist and as a teacher's assistant for the Ballet Folklórico course.

Research Interests

Jasmine's research interests include: Transnational Latina/Chicana feminism, Chicana survivors of abuse, Chicana involvement in student movements, and Chicana perspectives within Ballet Folklórico. Jasmine is currently working on her MA portfolio and research project that focuses on Folklórico as an expression of body politics.
