Transfer Resources

Chicanx Transfer Scholars Program

The Chicanx Transfer Scholars Program is a year-long holistic mentorship initiative during the Spring, Summer, and Fall of 2023-2024. It aims to bridge Central New Mexico Community College Students to the department of Chicana and Chicano Studies (CCS) at the University of New Mexico. Working alongside partners like the New Mexico Humanities Now! Mellon Initiative, ENLACE New Mexico, and El Centro de La Raza, this CNM to UNM transfer program is designed to provide a supportive, culturally relevant, and empowering experience to students interested in transferring and obtaining a major or minor in Chicana and Chicano Studies. If you have any questions about the program contact Travis Thompson at travistt@unm.edu or Dr. Jose Luis Serrano at jlserranonajera@unm.edu.

Extending Humanities Pathways Program

Extending Humanities is designed to increase degree attainment rates in Humanities disciplines at five community college institutions by offering support for Humanities students transferring from Central New Mexico Community College (CNM) to the University of New Mexico (UNM) and from UNM branch campuses – UNM Gallup, UNM Los Alamos, UNM Taos, and UNM Valencia.
