Rebecca Martinez-Baca is a long time student at the University of New Mexico, she received her AA in Digital Media Arts with a focus in Photography at UNM-Valencia, from there she received her BA in Liberal Arts with a focus in Education and Photography. Rebecca decided to pursue her MA in Art Education at UNM, she graduated in December 2021. These experiences with art and education helped lead her to community based learning through art. Rebecca will be focusing her PhD in Chicanx/Latinx Art with a focus in Archival and Curator work; Rebecca wishes to preserve Chicanx/Latinx art for its educational and historical impact for communities in New Mexico.

Rebecca's research interests are in Art archive, preservation and curator. This is important from an educational stand point to help communities engage in art based education.
