Bio

He/Him

Colton Campbell received a M.A. in History from the University of North Texas. His research is an interdisciplinary mix of history and fiction, focusing on racial identity, mental illness, academia, and insects. America’s obsession with separation and extermination is, for la Raza, not limited to Mexico’s border with America. Campbell works to draw attention to forms of biopolitical control that affect the mental wellbeing of Chicanx people within the United States. In both fiction and historical work, Campbell employs the corrido La Cucaracha as a decolonial symbol of collective resilience and resistance.
