Rebecca was born and raised in New Mexico, specifically she grew up in Los Lunas, NM and now resident in Belén, NM. Rebecca considers Valencia County and Bernalillo County as her home, as she grew in both area with various trips multiple times a week in Albuquerque due to growing up in village/small town and her extended family living in Albuquerque. Rebecca focuses on Art, Culture and Heritage and how it impacts our communities from a community and educational standpoint. Rebecca received her Associate’s Degree in Digital Media Arts back in 2017 with a focus in Photography from the University of New Mexico Valencia Campus, she also acquired her Bachelor’s Degree in Liberal Arts with a focus in Art Education in 2019 at the University of New Mexico, from her she continued her journey with UNM and during covid she graduated with her Master’s Degree in Art Education and Graduate Certificate with Chicana & Chicano Studies in 2021. She is now working on her Doctoral Degree in Chicana & Chicano Studies that is focused on Art Archives and Curatorial work.

Rebecca is focusing on Art Education using Chicana & Chicano Studies to help create Art Achieves that will focus on community artists of New Mexico to establish a working archive to help educate our communities about local Chicanx/a/o and Latinx/e/a/o artists.
