Nick Daniel Rivas is a first-generation doctoral student in the Chicana/Chicano Studies Department at The University of New Mexico. Nick received his M.A. in Chicana(o) and Latina(o) Studies from California State University, Los Angeles (2020). He attained his B.A. in Chicano-Latino Studies with a minor in Native American Cultures from California State University, Long Beach (2016). He acquired his A.A. in Social & Behavioral Science and in Kinesiology & Wellness from Mt. San Antonio College in Walnut, CA (2014). Nick identifies as Xicano, Peruano-Mexicano, and Chicano-Latino and is from the San Gabriel Valley, Inland Empire, and Coachella Valley of Southern California.
